Abstract

The stock market is an integral component of the economic development of any country, which  provides prospects for the development of the financial sector of Ukraine and brings good  income. The activity of the domestic market still remains at a low level of development, but it  makes small changes, which in turn leads to positive changes. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to trace how the securities market developed in recent years, to analyze the main indicators, to identify the problems that restrain its development, to trace how the military actions affected the activity of the market, what problems arose and how the market adapted to work in the conditions of martial law. In the article, we paid special attention to the features of the development of the stock market during the military operations, and in order to better understand what changes took place, we first examined the peculiarities of the functioning of the stock market of Ukraine in recent years and the main directions of the development of the securities market, identified the problems that the market faced during of their activities and  problems that do not allow the market to work fully today, analyzed the main indicators of the recovery of capital movement in 2022. Such methods as monographic, statistical, comparative, logical, analytical were used in the research. After conducting the analysis, we can say that the domestic securities market is at a low level of development, and the military actions taking place on the territory of Ukraine further slowdown the growth of the stock market. As we know, the stock market is very sensitive to economic and political changes, so on the first day of the military invasion of Ukraine, the stock market was stopped, which protected the market from falling stocks and bonds. And only half a year later (in August 2022), when the situation stabilized, the Securities and Exchange Commission removed most of the restrictions on the movement of capital and market activity was resumed after a long break. In the study, we looked at short-term prospects for market development, since the war showed that long-term plans became of secondary importance. The war in Ukraine continues and no one knows the further development of events. The practical significance of the study lies in obtaining new data on the peculiarities of the securities market in Ukraine during the war.
