Abstract
The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of the structural and functional characteristics of passenger transportation of passenger road transport enterprises of Ukraine from the standpoint of a systemic approach, and defines the types of passenger road transportation and their characteristics. Determining the specificity of the passenger transport industry, the structure and structural features of this industry, tasks of passenger transport enterprises, functional characteristics of passenger transport enterprises, relations that arise and exist between various subjects of transport activity in the field of passenger transport. It is determined what the economic and social role of passenger transport is. The article defines what contributes to the development of passenger transport and what is affected by the development of passenger transport. The article analyzes the volume of passenger transport in Ukraine by different modes of transport and the analysis of the volume of passenger transport in Ukraine by different modes of transport as a percentage of the total number of transported passengers by mode of transport per year. Based on this analysis, the role of passenger road transportation in the national economy is determined, which shows the need to study and implement theoretical and practical research on the problems of passenger transportation of passenger road transport enterprises of Ukraine in order to increase the competitiveness of enterprises and improve the socio-economic and environmental effect of providing services. This article shows that in connection with the dynamic development of integration processes into the European Union, in connection with the strengthening of economic and trade relations, the development of domestic and international passenger transportation is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, taking into account the fact that passenger road transport enterprises are dynamically developing, they need further scientific research.
