Abstract

The article is devoted to the phenomenon of leadership as a necessary component of modern effective management. In today's competitive market environment, the best formal leader is the one who is the leader for his subordinates. Leadership is seen as an ability of the individual, and as a process of influence, and as a position, and as a kind of power. Experts believe that almost everyone has a leadership potential that can be assessed and developed. The strategy of development of managerial potential of the manager should begin with diagnostics of potential. Diagnosis can be made by the following components: personal qualities, level of competence, internal attitudes, personality orientation. Особисті якості оцінюються з точки зору виявлення сильних та слабких сторін особистості. Internal attitudes include the formed model of behavior, values, principles of the person influencing his professional activity. The orientation of the individual is determined by his goals, motives, interests, abilities and influences the choice of professional field, position and working conditions. Diagnosis is the basis for the formation of self-development measures. The strategy of leadership development can be formed by the following elements: personality structure, competencies, image. There is a lot of research in the literature on the qualities that a leader should have. And although there is no universal list, you can create a set of strengths and traits that people want to develop in themselves. Competence can be formed by compiling a profile of a specialist and building an individual educational trajectory for him to acquire the necessary competencies. Of particular importance is the problem of forming a positive image of the leader. It can be formed in certain stages and with the use of modern image technologies.
