Abstract
The article explores theoretical and applied aspects of ensuring the financial and economic security of farms in modern conditions of development of the agricultural sector. It is substantiated that at the present stage farms operate under the influence of a significant number of internal and external risks, in particular financial constraints, instability of the market situation, inflationary processes, fluctuations in prices for agricultural products and resource supply, as well as high dependence on natural and climatic conditions and seasonality of production. It is determined that under such circumstances financial and economic security is a key prerequisite for stable functioning, increasing competitiveness and long-term development of farms. The scientific approaches of domestic and foreign scientists to the interpretation of the categories of «economic security» and «financial and economic security» of the agricultural sector and agricultural enterprises are analyzed. It is summarized that the financial and economic security of a farm is a complex multi-component category that combines financial stability, solvency, resource efficiency, competitiveness, risk management and strategic planning. The focus is on the specifics of the formation of financial and economic security of farms, due to the small scale of activity, long production cycle and high level of uncertainty of management results. The system-forming role of financial and economic security in ensuring the continuity of the production process, increasing investment attractiveness and adaptation of farms to changes in the external environment is substantiated. The conclusion is made about the feasibility of further scientific research aimed at developing methodological approaches to assessing the level of financial and economic security of farms and forming practical mechanisms for its provision in the conditions of modern challenges of the agricultural sector.
