Abstract

The economic essence of the scientific school as a concept is explored in this article. Information is provided about informal accounting school representatives of the National University of Water and  Environmental Engineering, which is presented in terms of their dissertation topics, dissertation defense places, scientific interests, published manuals and textbooks. The monographs published in recent years based on the department's scientific research results are listed. The names of conferences organized and  held by the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering are outlined. The main scientific and applied research areas of both teachers and students  are given, which are the basis of the educational process, the modern skills acquisition and competencies by future specialists – accountants, that make it possible in order to assess the competitiveness of our graduates in the labor market in Ukraine as well as abroad. It was found that the established cooperation between the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering and the leading accounting scientific schools in Ukraine strengthens the scientific research synergy and contributes to the domestic research integration into European space. The prospects of efforts of scientists consolidating from different regions of Ukraine for the science and the educational further development and professional process in general are revealed. According to the results of the generalization of research results, it is substantiated that the informal accounting scientific school of the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering has a fairly powerful personnel potential, formed on the basis of many years of scientific traditions and practical experience of the teachers of the Accounting and Auditing Department. The prospects for the further development of accounting schools are undeniable, it consists in expanding interuniversity scientific initiatives and integrating innovative approaches into the training of specialists.
