The article provides a theoretical and practical summary of approaches to project management in the context of innovative development of organisations. The article examines the role of project activities as a key factor in the innovative development of Ukrainian enterprises. Based on the analysis of statistical data, international project management standards (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile) and the practical experience of Ukrainian companies, the results of evaluating the effectiveness of implementing a project approach are presented. The main models of the project life cycle are analysed, the factors influencing its effectiveness are identified, and examples of the successful application of PMBOK and PRINCE2 methodologies in domestic practice are given. An integrated model of innovative project management is proposed, taking into account risks, quality and the human factor. Graphs, tables and a comparative analysis of management models are presented, demonstrating the positive impact of project management on increasing the innovative activity of enterprises [1, P. 6; 2, P. 3]. The modern Ukrainian economy is characterised by a high level of uncertainty and a need for innovation. In the context of post-crisis recovery, project activity is an important tool for ensuring the competitiveness of enterprises. According to data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in 2024, the share of innovation-active enterprises was about 18.3%, which is 3.5% more than in 2022 [2, P. 3]. This indicates the gradual spread of project management methods in business practice. In today's environment of digital transformation, project activity is becoming one of the basic mechanisms for managing change and improving organisational efficiency. It ensures the integration of strategic and operational processes, allowing for rapid adaptation to market dynamics and technological challenges. According to PMI Pulse of the Profession (2023), companies that systematically implement project management methods demonstrate 28% higher performance in achieving strategic goals [1]. According to PMI, organisations that give high priority to power skills demonstrate better project success rates [1, P. 6]. This demonstrates the key role of the project approach in ensuring competitiveness. The purpose of the article is to conduct an in-depth study of the methodological and practical aspects of project activities as a tool for the innovative development of organisations. To achieve this goal, the following tasks have been set: to define the essence and principles of project activities; to analyse modern project management models; to identify factors that influence the effectiveness of project implementation; to propose an integrated model for managing innovative projects.
