Abstract

The development of international trade forces exporters to study the requirements of international standards regarding the certification of products and services. The increase in export volumes (scale effect) stimulates the development of the standardization system, which, as a rule, extends to those national producers who take into account the quality of input resources (for example, the requirements of DSTU ISO 14000, 9000, HACCP standards and others). It is substantiated that standardization is a modern tool for the development of economies and establishes order and trust in products and services, promotes the competitiveness of organizations, while at the same time contributing to the improvement of life support quality and development stability. It is argued that standards have the following properties: openness to all participants; use for the development of new products and services; consensus among participants; European and international measurement factor; voluntariness due to commercial significance for business and primarily for transnational capital; mechanism for using regulations. It is proven that more and more firms are taking on the obligation to apply management systems recognized worldwide for trading products or services. Those are ISO 9000 standards series. It is established that the largest number of certificates of the DSTU ISO 9001:2008&2015 standard are held by metal and metal product manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade. Traditionally, the DSTU ISO 9001 management system is represented by industries: electrical and optical equipment, construction, machinery and equipment. International management system standards ensure the formation of principles of significance and added value in the globalized world, European, and economically developed countries’ economies. A large number of national bodies participating in ISO’s work (including Ukraine) makes it possible to organize an open and transparent process of standardization and certification of management systems.
