Abstract
The article examines the approaches to determining the essence and content of the category «economic potential of the enterprise», proposed by various researchers. On this basis, individual (resource, effective, functional, process, strategic, structural, adaptive, valuable, target, competitive, marketing, reproductive, innovative, regulatory, integration, dynamic, administrative, personnel, production, income, labor, reserve, system) and complex (structural-functional, resource-target, integral) approaches to its essence. It is proved that the economic essence of the category «economic potential of the enterprise» is manifested through the conditions of its functioning, which are influenced by the available resources and production capacities, strategic opportunities for the development and growth of the efficiency of the enterprise’s management, target settings, organizational and management features of the functioning of the enterprise as a system, etc. The definition of the economic potential of the enterprise is substantiated, under which it is proposed to understand the set of sources, abilities, opportunities, means, resources and reserves available to the enterprise to ensure the growth of the efficiency of the enterprise and the achievement of the set strategic goals, which are implemented in the conditions of a clearly formed organizational and functional management system of the enterprise. The classification of types of economic potential of the enterprise is generalized. An idea has been formed about the structure of the constituent elements that make up the economic potential of the enterprise. It was determined that the most typical components are: production, financial, labor, managerial, innovative, marketing, organizational, investment, resource, technological, intellectual, scientific and technical, etc.
