Abstract

The article highlights the accumulated experience in organizing the academic component of the educational-scientific process of Ph.D. degree holders and their attestation at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering in order to declare their subjectivity in the education system. It is proven that the development of new approaches to improving the educational-scientific process in general and its academic component in particular is a continuous process that constantly enriches itself with new content. The article defines the importance of a scientific supervisor in the research activities of a graduate student, who not only provides advice and monitors the implementation of an individual plan of scientific work and an individual educational plan of a graduate student, but also conveys his scientific experience, style and way of thinking. The main elements of motivation for young scientists, who are being trained in the graduate program, are discussed, including: awards for publishing the results of scientific research in publications indexed by the Scopus and Web of Science databases, providing the opportunity to publish their articles revealing the results of scientific and practical research on modern issues in economics, technology, and agri-sphere in the "Bulletin of NUWЕЕ", which is a printed publication included in the List of Scientific Specialized Publications of Ukraine (category ‘B’). The international activity of the university in the context of training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel is considered. Traditional activities conducted within the framework of the Festival of Science aimed at providing assistance to graduate students in their research and scientific work and promoting the growth of their competencies are described. The stages of the attestation procedure for a higher education applicant for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the higher education institution are defined.
