ORGANIZATIONAL AND ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LOCAL MARKET OF DRIED FRUITS AND SWEETS

Abstract

It is justified that the modern trend of healthy eating encourages people to consume food rich in vitamins,  inerals and antioxidants, which are rich in dried fruits. From here, the demand for dried fruit is increasing, and the market supply is struggling to meet it. The paper analyzes the market offer in Ukraine, which gives the right to claim that it is mainly represented by products of foreign production (95%) with a wide range of dried fruits of various varieties and tastes, which can affect the domestic producers of the market. About 150 Ukrainian companies are importers of these products. The main supplier of dried fruits in Ukraine since 2013 is Iran, with a share of 46%. Other eastern countries are also big importers: Turkey, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and India. Most of the products are imported from far abroad – the USA, Chile and Argentina. It was established that in the period 2015-2018 and until now, a positive trend of increasing the dried fruit market in Ukraine has been observed. The total volume of dried fruit imports in 2020 reached 27.9 thousand tons. The work investigated the local market of dried fruits and the production and sale of sweets containing them. Based on a survey of the local market, a list of brands, producer countries, importers of dried fruits and their prices is given. It has been proven that local producers are developing the production of dried fruits and sweets with their content. The paper analyzes the price offer of two local producers of sweets with dried fruit content, namely: Goshchanskyi Zavod  Prodtovarov, trademark «Prygoshchaysya» and Duben company «Ametys Plus». It has been established that Goshchan sweets are more expensive than Dubeni sweets. At the same time, an analysis of the prices of the most popular dried fruits in online stores was conducted. It has been proven that local producers of sweets successfully use various means of selling their products, from the organization of branded stores to online sales, but at the same time they create new ways and forms of product presentation, such as souvenir sets, bouquets.
