VENTURE INVESTMENT ACTIVITIES IN UKRAINE AT THE CURRENT STAGE

Abstract

The modern development of Ukraine is largely determined by innovative technologies and startups that require financial support to realize their potential. This article is devoted to the analysis of venture capital investment in Ukraine in recent years, in particular, its role in the development of innovative entrepreneurship and the formation of new technological markets. The purpose of the study is to determine the features of venture investing in Ukraine at the current stage, during the period of martial law and the instability of the domestic economy. The article provides basic theoretical information on concepts related to the definition of venture capital investment, considers the main differences between venture capital investment and traditional venture capital investment, defines the main directions of risk investment development under the influence of COVID-19 and war. The conducted research on the number of venture CIIs showed an increase in their number over the analyzed period. According to the Ukrainian Association of Investment Business, Kyiv and the Kyiv region have beenidentified as the focus of CII development. The article also analyzes the categories of venture investors as the main subjects of venture investing, and it is determined that the largest investors of risk investing in Ukraine are resident legal entities. The article analyzes data on the dynamics of assets of venture capital funds in asset management companies in recent years andconsiders the structure of assets where venture capital investors invest, considers the challenges and opportunities of venture capital investment in Ukraine, as well as the impact of modern economic conditions and legislative initiatives on the development of this sector. According to the research data, it was determined that despite the difficult economic and political situation, the activity of venture capital investment in Ukraine plays a key role in stimulating innovative development and actively developing.
