Abstract
The experience of developed countries shows that the sphere of culture or cultural industries is an industry that has significant potential for the economic and social development of both regions and the country as a whole. The article defines the classification of industries that today belong to the culture industry, considers the terms «cultural project», «project management». For the successful implementation of cultural projects, a science-based approach is necessary, which allows you to effectively plan and implement project ideas taking into account their industry specifics, target audience, interests of interested parties, and forecasted results. And this means to follow the project management methodology, to ensure the development and implementation of the project in accordance with the traditional stages, to use the appropriate tools, to take into account the interests of all interested parties. According to the classical approach, each project goes through the following stages: initiation, planning and development, implementation, monitoring and control, project completion. At each stage, it is necessary to use a specific toolkit, but adapted to a specific sector of the cultural sphere. Not all projects pass each of the stages, the project may be terminated before its completion. Some projects do not have structured planning and/or monitoring stages. Some projects go through individual stages several times. Many industries use variations of these stages. An equally important aspect of cultural project management is the identification of interested participants of the future project, because the structure of work on the project, available resources, time constraints, and the composition of risks depend on their goals and expectations. Project participants realize different interests in the process of its implementation, form their own requirements in accordance with goals and motivations and influence the project based on their interests, competence and degree of involvement in the project.
