The task of the research was to establish the specifics of the formation of productivity of new corn hybrids of different maturity groups on sod-podzolic soils of the Western Polissia. The experimental field is located in the Bereznе district, which is located in the eastern part of the Rivne region of the physical-geographical zone of mixed forests of the Polissky region (province). The predominant type of soil in the territory of the experimental field located in the village Yarynivka is turfy – podzolic sandy. The research was conducted during 2019–2021. Certified seeds (F1) of corn hybrids of different origins were used as the starting material for the research.
As a result of research conducted in 2019–2021, 20 maize hybrids of two maturity groups were studied. The best indicators of harvesting humidity, namely 15.2%, have the Concord originator Euralis hybrid, the ripeness group is mid-early. The maximum weight of 1000 grains, on average over the years of the study – 387 g, was obtained by sowing hybrid 30M originator MAS. The hybrid is medium-ripening.
According to the results of research conducted in 2019–2021, it was established that the best average yield indicator is 9.6 t/t hybrid Krabas originator KWS, maturity group – medium ripe. The hybrid has the highest yield rate among all in 2021, which is 10.3 t/ha.
For the cultivation of corn for grain in the conditions of the Western Polissia of Ukraine in order to more fully use the soil and climatic potential and save material, technical and monetary resources, we propose to sow a medium-ripening hybrid of the KWS – Krabas line in the 2nd decade to obtain a grain yield of 9.3 t/ha May and the mid-early hybrid 2370 of the KWS line to obtain a grain yield of 8.6 t/ha with the following application of mineral fertilizers and organic fertilizers: 150 kg of Polifoska at sowing + anhydrous ammonia 140 kg, Guardian Tetra 3 l/ha (ВВСН00) + Аbacus 1.2 l/ha (BBCH17) + Сoragen 0.1 kg/ha (BBCH17).
