Abstract

The article describes the essence of modern approaches to ensuring sustainable development both locally and globally. The main problems that determine the current state of economic systems development, in particular poverty and increase the level of welfare differentiation, social and economic consequences of conflicts, as well as issues of migration and urbanization are presented. The reasons and consequences of environmental problems and challenges of globalization processes are considered. The need for intensification of the introduction of advanced technologies is defined as one of the priority components of sustainable development. Also, directions are outlined, implementation of which will ensure the effectiveness of socio-economic and environmental processes.
