Abstract

The article identifies the need to effectively balance the use of ecosystem resources to ensure their sustainable development. The importance of studying the essence of transformation processes in the main spheres of the global economy to develop measures to ensure the formation of an environmentally-ethical and sociallyequitable economy in the context of ensuring the systematic sustainable development of both individual spheres of economic activity and a closely related and integrated world economy as a whole is substantiated. It is stated that management decisions taken at different levels of the administrative hierarchy should be fully consistent with the goals and needs of both today and the future, and ways of promoting a balanced use of environmental resources in Ukraine are tax leverages and regulatory measurers both at the micro-, and macro level, which can affect directly the economic and ecological issues as well as the labor market. The author argues that a necessary factor in ensuring sustainable development is to raise public awareness in economic and environmental aspects of the development of production systems. The article states that the task of the state, in the conditions where small and medium-sized enterprises, as a rule, have limited access to information, financial, technical and other resources, compared with large firms and corporations, and their creation and development depends largely on information base, market fluctuations and openness of markets, is the elimination of economic and administrative barriers and, at least in the initial stages, giving small and medium-sized enterprises access to the resources and markets necessary for their development. Specific aspects and appropriate approaches to optimize economic, environmental and social problems in the context of the use of effective market instruments, optimization of state influence, and issues of excess consumption and environmental pollution and its consequences are characterized. The directions of improvement of theimplementation of the sustainability strategy are considered and the economic and other mechanisms and levers of its implementation areoutlined.
